The DOW FILMTEC BW30-400 RO Membrane is a high-rejection, high-surface-area brackish water reverse osmosis membrane designed for industrial and commercial water treatment applications. It is a spiral-wound element using a polyamide thin-film composite membrane and is configured for standard 8-inch RO pressure vessels.
The BW30-400 8040 RO Membrane provides an active membrane area of 400 ft² (37 m²) and a typical permeate flow of 10,500 GPD (40 m³/day) under the manufacturer’s standard test conditions. Its typical stabilized salt rejection is 99.5%, with a minimum salt rejection specification of 99.0%.
The membrane is designed for applications where high-quality permeate, consistent performance and effective membrane cleaning are important. The standard BW30-400 specification uses a 28 mil feed spacer, while the product’s cleaning pH range is reported as 1–13.
Because it is an 8040 RO membrane, the element is approximately 40 inches (1,016 mm) long and 7.9 inches (201 mm) in diameter, making it suitable for nominal 8-inch × 40-inch membrane pressure vessels.
