Product Overview
The DOW FILMTEC BW30 PRO-400 RO Membrane is a high-rejection, high-performance brackish water reverse osmosis membrane element from the FilmTec™ product range. It is designed for industrial water treatment applications where reliable water quality, high membrane productivity and long-term operating performance are important.
The BW30 PRO-400 features a polyamide Thin-Film Composite membrane with an active membrane area of 400 ft² (37 m²). Under the manufacturer’s standard test conditions, it provides a permeate flow rate of 11,000 GPD (42 m³/day) with 99.6% stabilized salt rejection and 99.4% minimum salt rejection.
The 8040 membrane element has a nominal 8-inch × 40-inch configuration, with an element length of 40 inches (1,016 mm) and approximately 7.9 inches (201 mm) diameter. It is designed for use in standard 8-inch RO pressure-vessel systems.
The membrane is particularly suitable for industrial demineralization, municipal water purification and replacement of existing RO membrane elements. DuPont describes the BW30 PRO-400 as providing higher rejection and flow than the previous-generation BW30 product, along with stable long-term performance.
