Description: The Rotameter operates based on the variable area principle: as fluid flows through a tapered tube, it raises a float, increasing the area available for the passage of fluid. The higher the flow rate, the higher the float is raised. The float reaches a stable position when the upward force from the fluid equals the downward gravitational force exerted by the float’s weight. The float’s position directly correlates to the flow rate.
